A Unique Decorating Inspiration
How a diamond necklace transformed a room
Sometimes, inspiration comes out of nowhere. In this case, it all started with a necklace.
When a client came into our showroom looking for a sofa, our interior designer, Diane Ten Broeck assisted her and learned about her new apartment.

The apartment was a blank canvas, ready for an exciting design opportunity, and the client had a strong vision of what she hoped for. Diane learned the client was drawn to navy and textures, so during the interior design process, Diane coordinated a new sectional, ottoman, chairs, coffee table, custom pillows, and beautiful accessories to accommodate her client’s feminine style. The shades of blue and white, supported by rich neutrals, play off each other to create a pretty and sophisticated look.
But the windows presented a bigger challenge! As Diane and our window treatment specialist Lori Yanez began working with the client, they inquired about the gorgeous necklace she was wearing. The client explained her husband surprised her while on vacation. It wasn’t a special occasion, but just because he loved her. And so, the stunning diamond necklace in a quatre foil design served as inspiration for a truly remarkable window transformation.
The large window of this luxury apartment faced another building. The client wanted privacy, but also wanted the natural light. So, Diane and Lori, in collaboration with the experts in the Sheffield workroom, came up with a fantastic solution. They placed privacy film over the window glass and a tableaux was designed and custom made for the arch inspired by the necklace! The silk fabric panels graced both sides and the rods were finished with crystal finials. A motorized Silhouette blind gave the client the option to raise or lower the shade.
