Elegant Entertaining in the Country
Creating the character and ambiance of historical property in a new home
Nestled in fox hunting country, this newly constructed entertainment house is just steps away from the clients estate.
The challenge was to create a warm, inviting party place to entertain family and friends. Sheffield designer Paige Patterson, worked on this project from the beginning, choosing stone, wood, leather, rugs, and fabric to create the right balance of color, texture and shapes. Tufted blue leather chairs created a striking conversation area. Bar stools and tables were set up near a gorgeous shuffle-board table at the end of the room.

The three very large French doors were a dominant feature in this space. Sheffield window treatment specialist, Lori Yanez, dressed the doors in faux-leather cornices with nail head trim, in a shape designed to allow the doors to open freely as well as minimize the gigantic amount of wall space above them. They chose a Ralph Lauren wool plaid that furthered the color scheme for the stationary side drapery panels. This fabric was repeated on the back of the bar stools and the effect was seamless and beautiful, reflecting the client’s good taste. The result is a comfortable, yet tailored room, that is perfect for entertaining friends and family.
